Eat your way through #ottawafolk2012

If it were to be written, a list of the top reasons most people come to a music festival would probably look like this:

1) Music
2) Beer
3) Food

By now y'all know about the amazing line-up at this year's festival. Finding beer at a music festival is never a problem, and we're no exception: our friends in the Mill Street Beer tents have all your beer needs covered. Food is where questions start to arise. Is there anything beyond french fries? Will there be healthy options? I skipped dinner, will I have to make up for it with more beer?! Fret not gastronomes, we've got a wide variety of vittles to choose from. Something's sure to make your tastebuds happy. How's about a little looksie?

Looking for a snack to accompany your bevy? A bag of Spudniks warm, freshly seasoned potato chips will set you back $3.50. Finger lickin' flavours include Kool Ketchup, Sea Salt and Delirious Dill Pickle.

Cuisine Thai's food is so fragrant the scent will likely haunt you all around the festival. Give in to their Red Curry Chicken on a king sized bed of rice for $8.

Yum right? How could you say no to a B. Goods cookie? Grab one for $2.50 alongside a fairly-traded coffee (they've got a full service coffee machine) and you'll have no trouble finding the energy to dance right through until 11:00pm.

Our Musical Petting Zoo might conjure up images of goats playing the bongos, but that's not what you'll find (although it'd be sweet). You will, however, find goat in this HUGE curry from Mugena's Carribean Cuisine. At $12 it's a little more than other entrees, but is easily enough for 2 people. Smaller appetite but still want some island flavour? They've got Jamaican patties at $3 a pop.

If you worked up an appetite biking to the festival, check out Fitz's Classic Grill. This is their enormous "Fat Man Philly," which comes with a good side of fries at the price of $10. Epic.

A festival isn't a festival without mini doughnuts. Doughnut Delight is happy to provide you with these golden rings of sweet, sweet perfection in exchange for $4.50. Word on the street is they've also got deep fried Oreos, and said Oreos are heavenly.

Didn't see anything that tickles your fancy? Well, that was just the tip of the iceberg. You'll also find organic burgers, shawarma, spring rolls, kettle corn, poutine, wood fired pizza, ice cream bars, pulled pork sandwiches, smoked meat, chicken fingers, pad thai, BBQ sausages...and still more. You might show up hungry, but you certainly won't leave that way.
